REACHing New Horizons: Forgiven, Forgiving, Freed

Peace be with you.

If you’ve spent any time online, watching the news, or even just navigating a busy parking lot lately, you’ve likely heard, seen, or experienced, harsh, dehumanizing words directed at another. As though it is becoming second nature to turn strangers into categories, adversaries into animals, and people we disagree with into "things" to be controlled, avoided, ignored, or erased.

When we are hurt or betrayed, we often cope by turning the other person into a caricature. We lose sight of their humanity, and in doing so, we often lose a bit of our own peace. We find ourselves living in a world that feels increasingly divided, where compassion feels like a lost value and "the other side" feels like a different species.

This Sunday, we are continuing our "Path of Peace" journey by looking at the art of finding what has been lost.

Using the stories of the lost sheep and the lost coin in Luke 15, and the beautiful call to "clothe ourselves" in mercy from Colossians 3, we wonder together: how can empathy act as a bridge to our own healing and the healing of our world?

Whether you are carrying the weight of a fractured relationship, or feeling weary of the anger in our society today, or somewhere in between, we invite you to come as you are. Let’s search for what’s been "lost" together and find the path to peace.

Blessings,

Rev Kev
