Who We Are
We are a small, spirited community of faith nestled on historic Woodstock Hill in northeastern Connecticut. Founded in 1690 and worshiping in our classic New-England meetinghouse since 1820, we carry forward more than three centuries of Congregational heritage while embracing the fresh winds of God’s Spirit today.
About Us
As part of the United Church of Christ, we stand within a nationwide fellowship known for progressive theology, social justice witness, and congregational freedom. The UCC’s Statement of Faith anchors us in the good news of a God who “seeks in holy love to save all people…bestows upon us the Holy Spirit…promises forgiveness, grace, and courage in the struggle for justice and peace.”
Rooted in the United Church of Christ
We are An Open & Affirming Family, All Are Welcome Here
In 2003 we formally became an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation, pledging that “there are no outsiders in a community that is observant of God’s will.” We welcome people of every race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, economic circumstance, and ability into the full life and leadership of the church.
Why We Gather
In worship, study, service, and simple everyday friendship, we seek to live out Jesus’ call to love God and neighbor. Whether you’re a lifelong believer, a questioning seeker, or someone yearning for a place to belong, we invite you to join our small but mighty circle of grace. Come as you are; discover who God is calling you to be; help us write the next chapter of a story that began on Woodstock Hill more than 300 years ago.
