Service: Earth Day Worship
This Sunday we celebrate Earth Day by turning our attention to the quiet, persistent resurrection happening all around us: in roots pushing through hard soil, in forests healing after fire, in people and communities working with courage to protect this beautiful, aching world.
The 2026 Earth Day theme, “Trees, Faith, and the Work of Justice,” invites us to listen to creation as teacher and companion. Creation shows us that what bends beneath winter’s snow can rise with spring-like renewal; what seems dormant can burst with life when the conditions are right; and what looks fragile is often more resilient than we ever imagined.
In a time when the news can feel overwhelming, we will look toward signs of resilience, renewal, and hope; recognizing the places where vibrant life is rising and where God’s healing work is already unfolding.
As a way of participating in that hope, everyone will receive two plants on Sunday: one to keep, and one to gift: a simple act of sharing life, beauty, and hope with someone else.
